What your old AED is worth
Your buyback credit depends on the model you're trading in, its age, and its condition, up to a maximum of $400.
- LIFEPAK CR2 or ZOLL AED 3: typically earns $400
- Philips or HeartSine models: typically in the range of $100–$200
- Defibtech Lifeline: typically in the range of $100
A discontinued model nearing the end of its warranty, an out-of-warranty AED, and an expired unit from any other manufacturer can all qualify.
Because every fleet and every AED's history is different, our AED specialists can confirm the amount your model qualifies for. Send us your serial number, and we'll tell you exactly what your unit is worth before you commit.
How the trade-in works
Trading in your AED takes three easy steps.
- Locate the serial number. You'll usually find it on the back of the unit, sometimes underneath the pads.
- Fill in the form below. Enter your information, including your AED's serial number.
- We'll be in touch. An AED specialist will reach out with trade-in options within 48 business hours.
By signing up, you agree to receive marketing messages at the phone number or email provided. Msg and data rates may apply. View our privacy policy and terms of service for more info.
Trade-in terms
- Trade-in credit is applied directly to your invoice at the time of purchase and cannot be applied to online orders. Contact a sales representative to complete your trade-in.
- We provide a paid return shipping label for your expired AED, enclosed with the packing slip of your new unit.
- Proof of shipment for the traded-in AED is due within 30 days of your new AED's invoice date. After that, we'll invoice you for the trade-in credit already applied.

Why upgrade instead of re-accessorizing
The maximum warranty on any AED currently on the market is eight years. Your device has been running self-checks since the day it was made, but internal components age the same way any electronics do, whether the unit has ever delivered a shock or not. Older AEDs can also come with higher maintenance costs, and accessories for newer models typically last longer than accessories for older ones.
Before you pay for another round of consumables, ask yourself: Has the warranty expired? Has the device ever been used? When do the pads or batteries expire next? If the answers point to an aging unit, that replacement cost may go further as a trade-in credit toward a newer AED with accessories built to last longer.
You don’t have to make that call on your own. Our team can assess your AED over the phone based on its age, condition, maintenance history, and upcoming accessory replacement needs. We’ll only recommend trading it in when upgrading makes more practical and financial sense than continuing to maintain it.
